Biography

Clerine was born 14 years ago. No one knows her father. Her mother left her with the grandmother since she was 1 year old and she left for the capital city of Burundi to work as house maid. The last time she saw her mother was about 5 years ago. Her grandparents are farmers living in very poor conditions and it is difficult to care for the thirteen children they have in the same house.

Kevin is from Ngozi province of Burundi. The where about of his father is not known for the past seven years. No one knows whether he is dead or alive. Kevin has been living in a very poor condition with his grandmother. The grandmother who is a peasant farmer was not able to give him proper care.

Belyse is thirteen years old. Before we took her in the orphanage she was living in a small mud house with her mother. Her father died since she was 3 months old. Her mother helps others to cultivate their farmland after which she is given a small portion of land to cultivate her own beans and potatoes.

Patrick’s father is dead and the mother has remarried. Until we decided to care for him in the Grace & Glory Home he was living with his uncle where he has little care and insufficient food to eat. They were not able to send him to school. He has however started school after he was admitted into the orphanage.

Kalfan was born eight years ago. He is among the first set of Children we are caring for in the Grace & Glory Home. His father sold the family properties, left the family and has been a vagabond for the past five years. Kalfan was living with his grandmother who was straining herself to care for six children, though a subsistence farmer. They were eating mostly once or sometimes twice in a day.

Carine is from Ngozi province of Burundi. She is awaiting sponsorship so as to receive total care in the orphanage. Her father sold the family properties, left the family and has been a vagabond for the past five years. Carine was living with his grandmother who was straining herself to care for six children, though a subsistence farmer. They were eating mostly once or sometimes twice in a day.

Dennis lost his father when he was two years old. Her widowed mother has been struggling to care for her four children since then. Until we accepted Dennis in the Grace & Glory Home, the family was living in a very poor condition surviving only by the grace of God.

Favour was dumped inside a pit latrine of a primary school from the day he was born. No one knows the father and every effort to track down the mother was abortive. He was miraculously rescued from the pit latrine. He suffered burnt on his back due to the heat of the latrine and was also operated on his back after two weeks of his miraculous rescue from the pit. He was brought to the orphanage since he was two months and two weeks old. He is growing well and awaiting sponsorship so he can live a normal life and become great in life.

Biography

Joshua was struggling in life before we admitted him for care in the orphanage. He was usually seen begging for money on the street occasionally. His father impregnated the mother when they were both working with a family as cook and house maid respectively. They were eventually sacked and since then the mother did not find things easy. The father relocated to the village where he got married to another woman and now has many children. Joshua mother has been a single mother since then without any stable source of income.
